Review: Perfect for my kids Earth project - If your child has a school project to make a model or picture of the Earth, there's a kit that could be perfect for the task. It's easy to assemble and even a six-year-old child can paint the Earth and Moon with little help. The Earth and Moon pieces are in two halves that click together easily. The kit comes with etched printing on both pieces, with the Earth showing continents and islands to help with painting. You can choose to add glow-in-the-dark paint, but it's optional. One of the best features of this kit is that the Earth spins and the Moon rotates around it, which makes it fun for kids. The movement may be tight and squeaky at first, but it will loosen up over time. The Earth and Moon slide off easily if the whole thing is picked up, but if you keep it in one place, it's perfect for displaying your child's work. Overall, this kit is great for school projects or just for display. Review: First grade project success - My first grader had to build a solar system at home and bring it into school. This was fun to create together. Turned out really well. ## Features - The Solar System Planetarium set teaches children about the wonders of the solar system. It’s a 10 minute distraction for a child over 9. I bought this for my 6 year old (loves magnets, snap circuits, legos, etc). This was fun and worth the price at $17.00. He picks it up every once in a while but I wouldn’t say this is is a learning toy so much as an experimental toy- if that makes sense. **Q: Is the orbit of each planet accurate?** A: No! There is nothing even remotely accurate about this model. Save your $10, what a waste of money. **Q: Are the batteries secured with a screw or could a kid get to them?** A: The batteries are secured with a screw! **Q: What is the order to the steel posts?** A: No directions with this kit. You have to size them so they can rotate around each other. Had I known how frustrating this thing was I would have opted for a more expensive and slightly larger model. Hindsight is great. This kit isn’t. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for my kids Earth project *by D***E on February 19, 2024* If your child has a school project to make a model or picture of the Earth, there's a kit that could be perfect for the task. This was fun to create together. Turned out really well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for a hands on experience *by C***R on March 19, 2026* If you are teaching one on one it’s perfect. If you’re looking for something for a project use this is not the way to go it’s simply desk size. I’ll advise purchasing for each student for something hands on if it’s for a lesson. However, it does what it needs to. ## Frequently Bought Together - 4M Solar System Planetarium - DIY Glow In The Dark Astronomy Planet Model Stem Toys Gift for Kids & Teens, Girls & Boys, Model:3427 - LEGO Creator 3 in 1 Space Shuttle Toys - Space Toys Building Set for Boys & Girls, Ages 6+ - Option to Build 2 Spaceships or Astronaut - Educational Gift for Kids Birthday & Holidays - 31134 - 1,000 Facts About Space --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/2907244-4m-solar-system-planetarium](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/2907244-4m-solar-system-planetarium) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-10-30*
