I wanted my child to read books that she could relate to, the fact that a cool cartoon character is wearing a head scarf makes her connect with this book more so then any other book we have read. She's learning to pronounce the names of these characters correctly by listening to me pronounce them as well as using their names in a sentence. The book is filled with small detail that keep you engaged and grateful that these small selection of books are available. Im looking forward to purchasing more books from this author. Regardless what type of book you buy, your money will be questioned on where it went and how it was used one day, so with good intention and a little patience your child can learn a lot from this book, not only is it uniquely entertaining, it makes you feel good as a parent. we all waste money on petty little things daily, this book is priced affordably but if you think buying books like 'spongeBob square pants' is better or more entertaining for your kid then your child is wasting precious time that could be used to develop what type of person he/she will become one day. I plan to purchase more books as gifts for some non-arab/non muslim friends, so their kids can understand how to pronounce and understand how children from other parts of the world act, and hopefully this can make the community a more understanding place for our kids to grow up in. Review: Super educational and relatable - My niece and nephew (4 and 2) really enjoy this book. There is lots of new vocab for them in the book (from minaret to muaddhin to mihrab) as well as relatable sequence of events. The kids go to the masjid, do wudu, meet with friends before salah, pray in congregation and parents pray sunnah, and give sadaqah at the end before heading home. I liked how the Dad ran into a friend when they're about to leave...so relatable ;). Definitely a great book for every Muslim family. Also, the masjid layout in the book is like every other masjid in North America, so that was nice.
