I love my Sea Turtle brushes!! They’re priced the same as typical plastic brushes but they don’t shed microplastics into your mouth tissues. 😮‍💨 These brushes are gentle enough not to injure my gums, but they clean my teeth thoroughly; I use a fluoride free toothpaste with over 20% hydroxyapatite. Brush head is average to petite; I have a small mouth and it’s very comfortable for me to use. If you’re looking for a jumbo sized brush head maybe try another kind, but this one has an angle to the tip that lets me reach my molars better than I would with a bigger brush. The bamboo handle has a nice grip and light weight, plus I love how it looks in the bathroom. Just go for it if you’re considering the purchase, they’re good toothbrushes. ☺️🙌🏼 Review: Tarzan Approved – My Teeth Have Never Felt So Naturally Swingin’!” - These bamboo toothbrushes are the real deal. All-natural, vegan, and eco-friendly — basically everything my inner jungle warrior could ask for. When I opened the box, I swear I heard a distant “AHHH-AHHH-AHHHHH!” echo through the bathroom. Tarzan himself would’ve been proud. The bristles are soft but effective — gentle on my gums yet tough on last night’s garlic bread. And the handle? Smooth, sturdy, and made from real bamboo. Every time I brush, I feel like I’m doing my part to save the rainforest and my molars. Bonus points for the compostable packaging. No plastic guilt here — just pure, leafy virtue. I imagine if Tarzan had dental hygiene (which, let’s be honest, he should), this is exactly what he’d use between vine swings. So if you want clean teeth, fresh breath, and the smug satisfaction of knowing you’re helping the planet — grab these. You’ll feel like the king (or queen) of the jungle, one brush at a time. ## Features - Supporting Reforestation – Sea Turtle is proud to support reforestation initiatives, unhoused children worldwide, and meaningful environmental and humanitarian work. The bulk or base is plant-derived but it has other materials in it as well. This more than likely has some sort of plastic in the make-up as well. Otherwise we would be simply rubbing castor beans all over our teeth. I've come across similar products that are 62% castor beans and 38% plastic. This product likely has a similar percentage breakdown. **Q: Are these made in USA?** A: Bamboo doesn’t grow everywhere but the company may just be using China for the bamboo handles. I have searched for a long time for actual biodegradable toothbrushes and this is the only one that doesn’t say #4 nylon bristles. When you spend your tooth brush can you actually imagine removing the bristles before composting it? I dislike that theere are so many out there claiming to be biodegradable then I see “BPA free” but then claims “plastic free” which is false because nylon is a type of plastic and just because it’s BPA free doesn’t mean you can compost it. It still needs recycled but my recycling plant doesn’t accept anything that small because it goes through the cracks/holes they won’t even take bottle caps. Nylon bristles are just wasteful. I’ve read up on this one and it looks to be made from beans 🤷‍♀️ somehow. You can’t have local bamboo though so if it means sacrificing something I’d rather not contribute to the waste. And this brand does a 10% back to help the eco system . **Q: Are the bristles more like nylon, which are so-so tooth cleaners, or boar bristles, which are excellent at cleaning teeth?** A: I haven’t used boar bristle, but these are probably more like nylon. They do clean well and are gentle on gums. **Q: What is the proper disposable method for these toothbrushes?** A: Add to compost pile if u gave bamboo toothbrushes. They should not be recycled thru recycling companies. They are 100% plant based. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Economical, gentle, effective, microplastics-free, attractive, excellent toothbrushes. *by H***S on September 30, 2026* Thanks to a medication, I’ve got damaged enamel and my teeth are brittle and sensitive.
