Good strong metal, nothing flimsy here. Would have been 5 stars except for errors in description as opposed to what was recieved. Specifically: photo shows male thread end for connection, actual item has female threaded end. Also listed as gas tight but there is a small hole in the bottom under the socket to allow any water that gets past the seal to drain out. An improvement in my mind and for my uses, but still inaccurate. Finally, and the only error which had a significant effect on my installation, was that the 20 inch leads were only ~12.5" measured from bottom of fixture to free end. This prevented me from using my original 12" conduit to connect post to light. The longest piece of conduit I was able to use and leave enough wire to make the final electrical connection was 8". None of these errors would have stopped me from purchasing the fixtures, I do really like the final result, but accuracy of specifications can be very critical when ordering online. I would order these again if I have need of similar items. ### ⭐⭐ Connections Corroded and Disintegrated within Two Years *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on November 2, 2015* We bought 7 of these in 2013, and were initially thrilled with them (minus the ridiculous FedEX mishap and runaround of me not knowing someone had to be here to sign for the packageβ€”that is another long story). One of them got hit by an errant newspaper delivery driver, so we ordered a new one, and we bought one extra for backup (just in case something like that were to happen again).For awhile, one of the original 7 lights was just out. We assumed we just needed to open it up and tighten or replace the LED bulb. We opened it up (the same day that we replaced the one that the newspaper driver took out), and we discovered that the connections (the wires to the bulb socket) were completely corroded and disintegrated. It crumbled when we turned the bulb.There was another light (2 of the original 7, now) that was intermittent, and we opened that one up to find the same, exact issue.So, not only did we need to use our backup light that we purchased, but we discovered we were down a light. We're not particularly thrilled that we may be having to replace these things every couple of years. We expected maybe an occasional accident (why we wanted to have a spare), but we didn't expect them to just fall apart and fail.I contacted the original seller, AZ Partsmaster, about this, and while they told me that I should be the one to contact the manufacturer about this issue (huh!?), they are at least sending me one new light. So, there is that.Edit: I changed this review to 2 stars because I contacted both AZ Partsmaster and the manufacturer (Mulberry Metal Products), and after three lights have now failed (one more in the last week), AZ Partsmaster has only replaced one. Mulberry Metal Products did not respond at all. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pagoda Light Fixture *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on January 7, 2013* These Pagoda light fixtures seem well made. I have installed several of them on my dock where they are subjected to salt water on occasion. Only time will tell if they will hold up to the environment. I recommend assembling them with lots of silicone caulk to keep water out of them, especially the long screws that hold the individual elements together which have to be removed to replace the light bulb. Put a dab of caulk on the top of the screw head to keep out water and you will have a much easier time of removing these screws in the future.I think that for the price these are a good value.Update 7/1/2015 - my fixtures are now about 2 1/2 years old and have held up well on my dock in a salt water environment. The only failure I had was one fixture that is subjected to lots of salt water spray due to waves hitting some rocks - there is no sign of corrosion but the base of the light socket failed. It might be due to a manufacturing defect.
