In all of those videos I only had one problem where the software glitches and it stops recording. It was a simple fix, as all I had to do is rewind and start all over.Overall I think it's great as 16/17 tries worked.This company has very good customer service. It took them 2 hour to reply to my email. I emailed the company because the software that comes with the product is out of date and you have to get on their website to get the most resent one for it to work well. In addition make sure you have enough space to record. Passing VHS to DVD takes up a lot of memory. This makes it ideal for my older game consoles to stream. This capture card has allowed me to actively stream consoles like the Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2, and GameCube with no issues to twitch Via OBS.It's easy to use once it's working. Initial install can be tricky. So we literally have shelf upon shelf full of old VHS tapes and movies that are getting no use what so ever, as we don't have a VCR (I made that executive decision personally in an attempt to nudge this family member toward using newer technology). So I thought, "Why not simply convert them all, well, SOME of them to DVD or digital format?!", and well here we are...I didn't want to spend to much money, so going with one of those DVD/VCR combo units was out of the question. So I started looking for different options and this USB VHS to DVD Vide Capture Device fit the bill perfectly! Sure there are a couple more steps involved than just popping in a VHS and a DVD and pressing go. But it's still extremely easy to get set up and start using.First impressions of the capture device are very good. The build quality of the product is very apparent and it just has the solid feel to it when you handle it. The kind of solid feel where you pick something up and can just tell that it's done right. Aside from the capture device itself, this product comes with a CD that includes both the drivers for the capture device AND video capture/editing software for both Windows PC and Mac. ArcSoft ShowBiz for PC and Videograbber for Mac. And it's not just a trial version like some companies might include with their capture device, it's the full licensed version of the software and the serial numbers for both are included on the back of the CD sleeve (NOTE that you can also download the software from the internet if your computer doesn't have a CD drive.). The product comes with instructions as well, though they aren't very in-depth instructions, but more general instructions, such as procedure for getting the drivers and software installed and how to connect the device. But honestly, it's really straight forward once you get everything installed. And if need be, there are definitely tutorials and such for the ArcSoft ShowBiz and Videograbber software out there on the internet.Hooking up and using the capture device was EXTREMELY easy. Following instructions I simply installed the capture device driver from the CD, restarted my computer, installed the ArcSoft ShowBiz capture/editing software, plugged the capture device into a USB port on my laptop (I'm using Windows 10) and let it set itself up. Then all I had to do was connect the composite audio/video connectors (or S-Video should you choose) to the cables connected to my device, opened up ShowBiz and clicked "Capture". Then all you have to do is select the device from a couple drop down menus if it hasn't defaulted to the device (it didn't in my case as my laptop has a built in webcam) and you're ready to rock! Simply click "Capture" at the bottom corner of the preview and you're recording!I was very pleased with the quality of the capture as well. It all depends on the source from which you capture the audio/video. If you capture from a VCR playing a VHS tape, the quality is going to probably be a little lower because VHS quality is lower that most current formats. I hooked it up to my cable box/DVR that normally displays in 1080i/1080p, and the quality was VERY pleasing and actually surprised me!All in all, I really do LOVE this capture device. It really is awesome. And you can also use it for many other purposes, not JUST transferring VHS to DVD. You can simply record TV shows and either record them to a DVD, load them on a USB flash drive or just keep them on your computer, ready to watch. You can also capture music as well! I personally haven't used it for that purpose, but it's the same premise, you're just not capturing video, only audio.
