The cheaper knives of this sort, including the Victorinox, are too thin and thus flexible and this is a safety defect. They will turn unexpectedly in slicing through a potato or carrot lengthwise, and you'll find yourself using them less. This one does not do that, and in lots of things its more precise and less effort and faster than using a chef's knife. The cheaper Nogent ones, not readily available, are stiff enough not to do this, but they are quite a bit smaller and more flimsy. Again, you will use them far less than this one. The serrations are on one side only, which will make it easier to sharpen when and if that becomes necessary. If you examine them under a magnifying glass, they are not all that precisely made. But that does not seem to affect the sharpness. To sharpen serrated knives by the way you use a thin rod sharpener and drag it through the hollows of the serrations. This will probably not need sharpening for quite a while however. In use, its perfectly balanced, a nice weight in the hand, and very sharp.
