The lithium technology provides strong suction and extended run time. It has a washable bowl (20.6 oz.) and filter which allows for thorough cleaning between Jobs. The translucent, bagless dirt bowl makes it easy to see dirt and easy to empty. This rechargeable hand vacuum has a rotating nozzle for a comfortable hand position when accessing hard to reach areas, along with an extendable crevice tool that provides access to hard to reach areas and a flip up brush which allows you to dust and vacuum upholstery. The cyclonic action helps to keep the filter clean and suction strong. 2.0Ah. This vac has a lightweight and portable design which makes for convenient cleaning. Review: Good item - Its very powerful and easy to use item. Good quality and easy to clean. The only problem i had is the charger which was not compatible with the power at home.
Review: Pleasing the wife is a sign of a good tool - I was a bit sceptical at first. The hand vac did not look powerful enough. Then I charged it and gave it a try. Well I was and am surprised at the suction this has. I had to flip down the brush so it would not suck up the cloth on my computer repair desk. Also left the brush down for cleaning the fans and outside of vents it dug out the hair and heavens knows what else was coming out the holes. I used the canned of compressed air inside the computer and held the hand vac over the flying debris. It just worked like a charm The wife is using it for tracked in dust she sweeps in a pile on the floor and it cleans up with out leaving a line at the dust pan or having to bring out the vacuum hose which is 35 feet of built in vacuum hose wrestling this snake is the thing of the past for quick pickups. The small rug at the front door usually has grass or something in it and she uses the brush to get most of the stuff until it is time for the carpet brush. clean up is easy we rotate the body to unclick it for removal and dump the dirt compartment. It unclicks easier and so she decided to do the floor trim using the brush and rotated, just great and quick and is not scratching the walls like the big vacuum dragging it along. She found out the unit's snout extends. Well it is being used every day. I got it for her as a thanks wife gift as I am not into flowers. Now I think I will have to get one for ,my self I need it to do another computer clean and it is outside cleaning up the van. This unit is more handy then a pocket in your shirt.

**Q: Just bought this and it's only holding a charge for about 2 minutes of use?  Is this normal?  Is there something wrong with the battery?**
A: I’ve had this and have used it regularly for several years. Until recently I could vacuum steadily for 30-45 minutes on a charge. I never let it just sit on the charger but would charge it either overnight or for a number of hours before using it. It was great for a long time. Now it runs for just a couple minutes then quits but I can get the power back for more time almost immediately. Irritating, but it got the whole car cleaned before a trip last week. I’d hoped the lithium ion battery was replaceable but have not found that to be the case for this older model. I would - probably will have to - buy Black & Decker again.

**Q: How many volts is this?**
A: As Someone else mentioned, while this vacuum looks and smells and is even labeled the same as the previous version, it is not, including the Voltage. We had the previous version which was indeed 16V Lithium, and we loved it. Got a lot of use out of it and our young kids who were happy to help clean up with it; for about two years, when it died, just wouldn’t start anymore;So I ordered this one, which I thought to be a the same product, However, One of the changes in the design is that this vacuum now requires to be plugged in to be recharged, whereas the previous version had a charging base - you would just set it upright on the base and it would charge. Easy as pie, even for the kids. Based on the drama of endless empty personal devices, I knew this version was going to be a problem. I thought that a likely problem with the old one might be low battery cells and that I could replace them with cells from the “new” model. I opened the vacuum to get to the battery. It is clear that battery replacement is not intended to be a consumer activity. The old unit had 4 cells each measuring approx. 4 Volts, which makes sense for a 16V rating(4x4V). The new vacuum, however, had only 3 cells and each measured 3.5V So I concluded that the problem with the old vacuum was unlikely to be with the battery, as each cell measured the same and together would provide the rated 16 Volts. Additionally, it appears that the new vacuum has a significant power reduction, at around 9 to 10 VOLTS as others have answered.  (3.5V per Cell X 3 cells.  I strongly share the comment that this should be clearly labeled on everything for an effective comparison

**Q: Is the suction strong enough to pick up cat litter?**
A: It will pick up litter.  And then when you turn it off and hold it spout-down to hang it up, all the kitty litter falls out onto the floor.  This thing is useless.

**Q: Has the lack of charging issue been resolved for 2017?**
A: Not sure as have not owned previous model. I can tell you I can clean two cars, probably fifteen minutes on one charge without loosing suction.
