I need a pair of tall sawhorses for my truck canopy, weighs approx 300#** A: That's only 150# on each. I'd worry more about the cross pieces; I use 2 X 6. **Q: How tall does the table stand?** A: You determine the height when you cut the 2x4's to create the legs. Don't forget that you need two pair of these to be of much use. I suggest cutting the 2x4's to a length of 30". **Q: What angle do I need to cut the legs so they sit flat?** A: 35 degrees. Or you can take a 2x4 sit it in the leg brace and then mark your leg off of the brace. You will use the same degree on both ends of the two x four. **Q: How to slim down the 2x6 that lays across and connects the two units? Mine are very close to snapping in but need to be more narrow. Solutions?** A: I have put together 4 of the sawhorses and used 2X4 boards for the top horizontal connecting board in each case. They fit perfectly with no adjustments required. However, if you want to use a 2x6 for the cross member, then you'll need to reduce the 2x6 to 2x4 at the point where the board connects to the black plastic mount. You could do this "reduction" with a wood chisel and hammer, a multipurpose tool with a wood bit, or a router if you have one. Not a big job. Also, FYI, I tighten the wing nuts pretty firmly upon fist assembly--then I use the saw horses for a few days and discover that the wing nuts need further tightening, which takes about 10 seconds per wing nut--not a problem. Last note, it is a good idea to add cross members at about the mid-way point down the legs to reinforce the legs.
