It dries fairly clear (not fully clear, just fairly) so it did not impact the black finish of the wood. It was easy to use, though I will say the tip took a bit of getting used to. I did a couple of practice squirts on some paper towel before I started and I'm definitely glad I did. The consistency of the glue is thick without being unworkable, thin without being watery, and it dried quickly without impacting the working time.
