Canvas or mesh uppers can be tricky since they're porous and soak up a lot of the cleaning solution from our sponge. If the sponge dries out, it will break down much quicker than it should. Two recommendations if you want to give it a try it on canvas uppers: Use water to keep the sponge extra wet while you're cleaning and also use the orange shammy-side of the sponge.
