This stuff holds up great in all weather and is super strong and pliable. It'll handle strings of lights, no problem. **Q: Is this really only 93 lb test?** A: No, Test or Max Tensile is closer to 800 lbs. The 93 lb number is a safe bet recommendation as a day to day work load amount for enhanced long life performance. Thanks for your question! **Q: Can this rope be melted to mend ends together?** A: The rope can certainly be melted and the ends can be fused together, but please be aware that the point where they are fused will be a weak spot and will not have a predictable strength.
