I've been using for over 20 years, and the areas I apply to are: face, throat, chest, breasts, inside of lower arm, behind the knee, palms of hands, soles of feet. If applied to blood vessel areas, it absorbs very quickly into the blood stream. It doesn't absorb very well when applied to fatty areas (like thighs, belly, etc). It's really important to rotate your sites ... the receptor sites for progesterone will get exhausted if you keep applying in the same spot (then it doesn't work as well). It's also important to take off (1) week of each month. Dr. Lee says you need to let the body rest. If you're still getting your period, take off the week of your period. If your period is erratic (entering menopause) or you're fully menopausal, just pick a week of the month (I take off the first week of every month ... easy to remember). **Q: How long do you have to use this before it helps you sleep better?** A: I use the "healthy hormone with vero" dosing method - 80mg in the AM & 80mg in the PM. I will use more if needed throughout the day. FINALLY my hot flashes have almost ceased completely! I didn't know that i had been under-dosing for two years. I am very Estrogen dominant even though it's low. So, i still use a pump of estriol in the AM along with the 80mg of progesterone(4 pumps). NO estriol at night though, just 80mg of progesterone before bed! I am finally sleeping so much better!!!
