How do I get the new slider onto the already sewn on zipper?** A: If the top stop is a small metal clip, then it can be pried apart with a small screwdriver and clamped back after with a pair of needle nose pliers. If the top stop is a molded nylon stop, then use a file or a pair of diagonal cutters to get rid of the little nubs that prevent the slider from coming off. After, use a small knife to cut a little groove on the side of the top stop and then use needle and thread to wrap a few lines around the stop. This will serve the same function as the removed nubs.
