Then, in a multi-day attempt to salvage it, they covered it in plumbing tape/fitting sealant, and scratched it up with their tools. By the time all was said and done, it still leaked, and in my husband's words, "looked like a bear had mauled it." Luckily, I was able to order this replacement part with same day shipping and install it myself on the first try, with no tools. I'm very pleased with the part.
