## Description

Product description eGPU Breakaway Box 750 - Thunderbolt 3 to eGPU Card Expansion Systems - Not compatible with M1 Macs Pro Power Graphics - Add a High-performance Video Card to Create Your Own Personal eGPU Workstation NOT COMPATIBLE WITH M1 MACS Whether you’re editing, rendering, color grading, animating or creating special effects, many of the pro applications you use rely on desktop and workstation graphics (GPU) cards to do the heavy lifting in processing data. Unfortunately, many popular computers are equipped only with integrated graphics or low-power discrete GPUs that bottleneck performance when performing these tasks. Happily, there’s a simple path to greater productivity—add a Sonnet external GPU (eGPU). The eGPU Breakaway Box 750 and 750ex Thunderbolt 3 to GPU PCIe card expansion systems boost your eGPU-compatible computer’s graphics performance by connecting a high-performance GPU card to your computer via a single cable. Mac Compatibility Mac with Thunderbolt 3 ports and macOS 10.13.6 Apple M1 Macs do not support eGPUs In an eGPU chassis, these cards are compatible with macOS 10.5.7 - macOS 12.2+ Window Compatibility Windows PC with a Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 port & GPU card use requires an eGPU-enabled Windows PC Maximum GPU Card Size 312mm x 140 mm x 58mm iMac Pro Application Acceleration MacBook Pro Application Acceleration eGPU Breakaway Box 750 Compatibility 750W Power Supply - Future-proof Upgrade Don’t limit your future card choices—choose a Sonnet eGPU Breakaway Box 750 or 750ex. Equipped with 750W power supplies, these Sonnet chassis easily support the highest power demands of latest GPUs and have plenty of extra power to support GPU cards from generations to come. eGPU Breakaway Box 750 Includes two 8-pin (6+2 pin) auxiliary power connectors 750W power supply; supports cards requiring up to 375W of continuous power plus an additional 85W peak power Provides 85W of upstream power (useful for charging your notebook) AMD approved for the air-cooled editions of the AMD Radeon RX Vega 64, Radeon Pro WX 8200, and WX 9100 Designed to also support overclocked NVIDIA cards with high peak power requirements Coolest & Quietest Add-your-own-card eGPU System Available With its large variable-speed temperature-controlled fan that quietly and effectively cools the installed card, the eGPU Breakaway Box can be comfortably used in noise-sensitive working environments. 4K to 8K Workflows – Connect Two or More Breakaway Boxes Many task times on supported applications—such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Maxon Cinema 4D, to name a few—can be cut significantly with one eGPU Breakaway Box connected. But, for computers with multiple Thunderbolt ports, times can be slashed when two, three, or four Breakaway Boxes are employed. Connecting one or more eGPUs can multiply your computer’s graphics processing power, enabling it to handle 4K, 5K, 6K, and 8K workflows more efficiently. Supports Latest eGPU Cards No Compromise GPU Card Choice, designed to house and power the latest power-hungry video cards. They support Thunderbolt-compatible cards with popular GPU chipsets—such as AMD Radeon RX series (including VEGA GPUs); and NVIDIA GeForce series and TITAN GPUs. Even the latest pro cards—AMD Radeon Pro and NVIDIA Quadro GPUs—are supported! Two Models. Your Choice Both eGPU Breakaway Box models are Thunderbolt Certified and include a Thunderbolt 3 cable to connect the system to your computer. The 750ex provides a handy connection hub for USB devices and Ethernet connectivity.

Review: Great product, highly recommend - Amazing performance, plug and play, easy to setup and highly recommend
Review: it works god bless - for starters make sure the graphics card you have is compatible with this. There’s a list on the official sonnet website. Anyway, it was easy to set up with the MSI laptop I have. Currently using a GeForce 3060 12 GB with it. And DANG IS IT NICE. prior I had been using an AMD RYZEN 550X 4GB. Oddly enough, the amd 4gb didn’t care whenever I turned the egpu off but the nvidia 12gb gets pissy and demands I type the bitlocker code. No idea what that’s about but I don’t care. It works and it works well.

### ⭐ Be VERY cautious about ordering an eGPU.

I'm going to assume ours was a somewhat special case, but I still want to warn others so no one else has to deal with the nightmare that we have. We wanted to use this for a Dell G7 17 laptop that has Thunderbolt 3. Let me tell you right now, never buy a Dell laptop. It's known to throttle things like crazy and this eGPU was no exception. We have deducted that it was a combination of the laptop ITSELF and the eGPU as to why this did not work for us. Let's start with why it was the eGPU. We put a 4070 ti into the eGPU and plugged it into our laptop. It was a b and a half to get this to even work. Then once it did eventually work, the graphics card was only working at like 50% of its potential. Yes, it ran better than the 2070 that's in the laptop, but it definitely wasn't running like a 4070 ti. We put the 4070 ti into a desktop and immediately returned the eGPU and the 4070 ti. Why the 4070 ti? Because I'm done with Nividia for the time being and instead and looking into getting the 7900 xtx instead. I didn't think the lack of vram would make that massive of a difference, but it does, and I want to future proof at least a little bit. And the eGPU was a heavy disappointment with how poorly it preformed in comparison. I truly don't think it's worth spending an extra $300-500 losing 20-50% of an $800-$2,000 graphics cards potential. That just doesn't make sense to me and was something I should have looked into beforehand. But I do think it also preformed poorly because of the Dell laptop as well, which is notorious for throttling everything under the sun. We're guessing it has something to do with the laptop's PSU and not wanting to give the eGPU even a watt of its power. Do not disable your laptop's GPU to counter this (or to even get the eGPU to work in the first place) because you'd basically be disabling the only fans in the laptop. There really is nothing you can do about this. People seem to love eGPU's and that's why I'm assuming this either isn't normal or people don't realize how much of the graphic cards potential they're losing. But just know to do your research and see if it's the right fit for you. I say this because Amazon will not be so keen on refunding you for this because of the price tag. It has been a battle trying to get our money back and we've been prime members for a decade with a good history. So imagine wanting to return this product if you're not a prime member, or haven't been for very long. If you think the risk is worth it, go for it. But I massively regret purchasing this. We've just decided to build a portable desktop lmao.
