Review: fun & easy game to set up and play - the object of the game is to draw 7cards, then use those cards to move the game pieces that are owned by both players in such a way as to place the king into your castle. both players move the pieces depending on the cards that you hold tug-of-war style. you can win by either getting the most points by having the most pieces on your side of the board after going through the deck twice or by placing the king in your castle. the jester and magician have special abilities that you can move other game pieces on the board as long as the jester or magician are on your side of the board, if the jester or magician are not on your side of the board you can use their cards to move them on your side of the board; other pieces can follow the jester, the magician can make pieces appear on the same space. the two guards have to be on either side of the king at all times protecting him, even if theirs many spaces between them and the king, the king can not be outside the guards protection. tub-of-war games tend to take set-up so you can make big moves in one turn, it will take several turns of making small moves and saving important cards so that you can make a big move. the game has a fair amount of strategy to it.

I love this game! It’s compact so it’s easy to store or travel with. It’s one of the best two player games we’ve found, and we can play it over and over in the same sitting without it growing dull or repetitive. I love that the board is cloth and the pieces are wood. It’s pretty to look at, and the materials seem high quality to me. I also think this game is easy to understand without being simple. Love it!
