It's got a bunch of different controls on it. Oh, it's even got a spirit level. I didn't even realize that till I just started doing the video and saw it in reverse. It has very little if any vibration when pointing, adjusting and focusing the scope-the site picture through the scope remains very stable and moves smoothly. My scope has a built in ARCA-Swiss mount which fits this scope perfectly with no adapter needed. The ball assembly is very smooth with a very good friction adjustment knob. This tripod has many features I will likely never use but nice to know they are there if needed. As to Astrophotography - that depends on your exposure plans - for long exposures you will still need some sort of motor mechanism to compensate for earth/sky movement. Works great with my big binoculars. Comes with a cell phone mount also. *by R***K on December 9, 2025* I have some 25 x 100 binoculars that weigh 10 lbs. It's hard to find an affordable tripod that's tall enough and sturdy enough to support my binoculars while I'm standing. I tried a cheaper tripod, but it was shaky and lightweight. The ball head and panning are smooth and allow you to look around with the binoculars while giving good support and they lock solid when you want them to stay put. This tripod is sturdy and is definitely worth the money.
