Some foam handle easy to crack.** A: This one won't, the foam on his handle is ripstop and very durable, waterproof and sweatproof. **Q: What should I expect from these bands for 8 bucks?** A: I'm not sure which band in $8, but to answer your basic question: These bands offer assistance while doing pull ups and there are many YouTube vids available demonstrating their use. One of the illustrations on the Amazon page is a chart where you plot your body weight and number of pullups you can currently do now and it will advise the appropriate band to purchase. The goal, obviously, is to do pull ups withOUT any bands (and there are some fitness gurus who say start with a low bar and do modified australian pull ups and not to use the bands at all) but the advantage as I see it is that you can work the entire range of motion and activate the muscle chains required (and stay motivated since you are now able to do more pullups).
