After few months I had a real need 24/7 (somebody keeps folding mirrors on my car) so I decided to activate the parking mode. Result - doesn't work at all. I'm not sure what the problem is - either dashcam or the kit. The kit has 3 wires - ground, yellow and red. The only way how you can make the camera work is by connecting the yellow wire to 12V (opposite what the kit manual says). The red one is dummy - camera ignores 12V on it so no point of connecting the red to anything. Dashcam doesn't "see" the hardwire kit so the corresponding menu for parking mode throws messages that hardwire kit is not present. The kit itself is overpriced - basically all it does is just reduces 12 V to 5 V to feed the cam, that's all. So if you really want parking mode, look for something else. I found this out the hard way. The instructions in the box are wrong and still have not been updated as of 4/22 even the cables have a little sticker on the cables are wrong. I ran my battery down all the way because I had the Yellow plugged into the always on and the red in the On/Off so be aware that you need to switch them or you will end up with a dead battery and have to get a jump. **Q: If the fuse blows for some reason, do you have to order and reinstall a whole new wire harness or is the fuse easily replaceable?** A: The fuses are not replaceable. The solution is to cut the fuses off, use fuse taps to power the harness and allow for replaceable fuses. In my case, I didn't have mini fuses in my car, so I had to cut the fuses off and re-wire in order to use regular ATC fuses (full size). **Q: How does this connect to two cameras front and rear at the same time or do you need two sets?** A: The rear camera connects to the front camera. The power cord plugs into the front camera. Only one power cord is needed. **Q: Do the fuses connect to empty fuses? Or can they be placed where a fuse already resides?** A: Yes, they are designed to go into the place a fuse already resides. Just make sure what that circuit is in your fuse box before plugging it in.
