## Description

Be safer and more comfortable on your boat with Total Boat Two Part Polyurethane Marine Expanding Foam. This US Coast Guard compliant pour foam is commonly used to add buoyancy to keep a boat afloat if hull integrity is compromised. Its closed cell foam structure enables it to resist water absorption for many years, making it ideal for filling pontoons and cavities in kayaks and beneath boat decks. 2 Lb. density expanding urethane foam kit mixes to form a fast-setting, pourable liquid foam that cures to a rigid, lightweight material that's also great for filling gaps, soundproofing, and providing thermal foam insulation and nonstructural support in a variety of marine, household and art applications. Two part flotation foam has a simple 1:1 mix ratio that makes it easy to use. Warm conditions of 75-85°F are very important, as are accurate measuring, thorough mixing, and proper venting of the area where the foam is to be applied, because it expands tremendously by volume. Just mix one part resin and one part activator, stir vigorously for about 25 seconds to mix completely and pour immediately into the prepared area. Expanding foam will distribute itself evenly - even into irregularly shaped areas. Cured foam hardens into shape, with minimal shrinkage, and can be cut to shape easily. Once fully cured, any areas exposed to sunlight should be laminated or painted over with polyester, epoxy or vinyl ester coatings. For best results filling larger areas, pour in multiple layers to allow proper cure and maximum strength bonding between layers. Always wear proper eye, face and clothing protection when you mix and pour two part marine foam.Compare to Evercoat Marine Foam-It, FGCI Polyurethane Foam, Polymer Planet Liquid Urethane Foam, Morris Materials Urethane Pour Foam, True Composites Pour Foam, and System Three Flotation Foam for boats. All TotalBoat products provide great value and great results. 100% made in the USA.

Review: Excellent - Excellent product, works as advertised. Easy to mix and pour. Not a lot of time to mix and pour but enough. Plan ahead and have everything ready and it’s a breeze. Would and have bought again.
Review: Trial and Error, Read the directions first. I did and still has a learning curve. - Applying concoction into sit on top kayak Started out not liking it much. It's early November in Central Texas and the outside temperature was around 80 degrees, the sun was out and warm. The cans were stored in my shed, and the temperature of the resin and activator were probably around 50 degrees. I mixed up a little bit of this stuff into a wash basin and put it in my kayak. The stuff didn't really foam up. Realization: Just because the outside temperature is 80 degrees still does not mean that the foam will work. I found a pot large enough to put one can in at a time (wife was watching TV at the time :). Light up the stove top and bring the temperature of the resin and activator to around 80 degrees (shake in a circular motion to mix hot and cold, I had to put on the stove 3 times per can). I used my hands to measure the temperature. Nothing scientific. I screwed off the top of the foam can and had to poor it quick... It was trying to foam up. I used a wash basin to mix the 2 together. Don gloves, this stuff adheres to everything and is difficult to remove. Ensure that the hole that you are putting this stuff into is fairly large (Mine is almost the size of my head and still got this stuff all over my kayak.) It worked ok at first, but after the first batch started to heat up the inside of my kayak the rest of the stuff worked like a charm. It filled up the whole back end of my 2 person kayak. After it's done foaming it turns hard. I can still scrape it with my fingernail. But, for filling the void and stabilizing the outside hull, it did a superb job. I just bought a second batch to fill up the front end of my boat. I hope this helps.... happy foaming :) Second purchase I didn't have to heat up since I left it out in the sun. Kayak was in the sun as well and this stuff worked great. I mixed up a little at a time, and then pour it in. This time after the pouring in 2-3 batches I took the kayak off the shed it was leaned up against and turned it topside down to spread the foam all over. It still worked great but got some on my hands this time... they turned black. I rubbed them against a brick wall and the blackness deteriorated. Not completely gone but it's not as prevalent.

## Features

- LIGHTWEIGHT, TWO PART POLYURETHANE FOAM: Ideal for adding buoyancy, thermal insulation, soundproofing, and filling gaps or voids; for nonstructural applications only; tested in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard Regulation # 33 CFR 183.114
- EASY TO USE: Liquid urethane pour foam has a simple 1:1 mix ratio, expands rapidly & hardens in place in about 5 min. at 70-80°F; to build multiple layers for filling under boat decks, pour expanding foam in separate batches
- 94% CLOSED CELL FOAM: Perfect for marine applications; resists water absorption and damage from gas, oil or solvents; once cured, foam can be coated with polyester, epoxy or vinyl ester resin; can also be easily cut or carved to shape
- IDEAL WORKING TEMPERATURE IS 75-85°F; proper temperature, timing, mixing and venting are critical for proper foam expansion; below 75°F expansion decreases; after mixing, the foam expands rapidly and becomes rigid, so clean the surface in advance and be ready to pour
- AVAILABLE IN A 2 QUART KIT AND A 2 GALLON KIT; Yield: 2 Quart Kit – 2 cubic ft; 2 Gallon Kit – 8 cubic ft; Flotation Range for 2lb foam: 75 lbs per mixed 2 quart kit, and 300 lbs per mixed 2 gallon kit; shelf life is 6 months from date of manufacture

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you use on basement cracks**
A: The foam is made to fill voids in boats for flotation and is not structurally strong.
That said, it will fill cracks as long as you're not depending on it for strength.
After it is poured, it will expand. It pours like water so it might be difficult to get it where you want it on vertical walls. Easy to pour on a floor crack but not strong enough to walk on.

**Q: What is the flotation range for the 2g kit? will it support 1500 to 2000 lb floating dock?**
A: 1 cubic foot of 2 lb. Polyurethane close cell foam will float 60.2 lbs. per US Coast Guard regulations of Flotation. So by the their formula it should float about 480 lbs. of weight.
So no you would need 6 2 gallon kits to float just the dock. That's not counting any weight of people that stand on the dock ....

**Q: How much does this cover?**
A: A two gallon kit (1 gallon resin + 1 gallon activator) will yield 8 cubic feet which is equal to 59.84 gallons. 1 cubic foot equals 7.48 gallons.

**Q: Can the 2lb product be used to fill the void in my kayak made of high-density polyethylene or will it deform?**
A: It should work just fine. Use a smaller amount at first and then mixed more as needed until the void was filled. I was not not sure how much
it would expand so I started with a smaller amount . It expands and hardens quickly. I don't think it will deform your kayak, but it will expand out of any cracks and holes, but you can cut off any foam you don't want.

Absolutely fantastic, it really does what they claim. The photo is a 18” tube 55” long. One set filled it for me. Great flotation!
