So he used the silver wound gel and I immediately got on desertcart after talking to him and ordered these bandages for him. They would get to him the next day. He had used regular bandaids (when he had taken care of it at work) which had been challenging to remove when he got home.... (OMG! He is lucky his sister is as intelligent as she is!) He wore these wrapped gauze and then put a fingerless Mechanix glove on.said it worked like a charm. The severe burn healed SUPR NICE! Can barely tell he experienced this unfortunate incident. Sadly.it didn't keep him from getting a staph infection. So within a week and a half he was in urgent care wondering what these painful 'boils' were that he was getting on his abdomen. It's composed of: Clear Gel – 67% water, preserved with 1.0 % Phenoxyethanol. But it sure feels good when you first put it on. **Q: How does this compare to spenco 2nd skin? is it the same? thanks** A: I never used spenco brand so idk how they compare. I do that these didn't stick and I had better luck with silvadine cream and a non-stick gauze pad. **Q: Can it be cut in half?** A: Yes, they can be cut, it shouldn’t change the performance if cut the pad in smaller size. However, the pad is designed to be used right after opening the original package, and the unused other half pad can be dried out so I suggest to keep them in an airtight container. But we need to make sure with the customer that since the pad is designed to be used right after opening the original package, we never have performed any studies how long the unused pad would maintain moisture after kept in such airtight containers. Healed a burn in no time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Every First Aid Kit Should Have These *by A***R on 21 August 2025* Bought these 3 year ago when refreshing our camping medical kit. Recently burned my forearm quite badly taking pizza out of a 450 degree oven. I was convinced I would have a bad scar do to how much it took to get the pain to ebb. Kept it under cold running water multiple time for a total of maybe 15 minutes but still had to take some ibu and go to bed with it resting on an ice pack. Used the burn gel pad that night and kept in on for about 36-48 hours waiting for other burn treatment supplies to arrive. It was probably a 1x2 inch burn and it was a grey color in the middle vs red and there was no pain following the day it happened which i found both concerning. Happy to report the burn never even blistered and I have only the very faintest scar which I expect to fade even more with scar tape.
