Mess free cutting solution ROMECH thermal cutter cuts cleanly and smoothly. As heat reacts to the fabric/foam, it cuts without leaving dust and common debris when using a conventional knife. No dust or polystyrene residue, easy to clean. Designed for commercial and industrial use. How to use ROMECH Thermal Cutter The cutter is designed for use on synthetic fabrics, ropes and hard foam including: canvas, synthetic fabric, fabric, polystyrene rope and rope, polystyrene (PS), PUR hard foam, neopor, polyurethane and polyurethane foam. This is a hot melt knife system, with a blade that can be as hot as 500°C. It is therefore essential to read and fully understand the instructions before using the cutter.

I make sure to use a brass wire brush (small one) to clean the blade after use, while the blade is still warm... stays clean and probably lasts longer that way. It definitely helps when cutting the next fabric, to have a clean blade. I did order a couple of spare blades, but so far I'm still on the original one, almost 2 years later. The storage case still works, although as some mentioned... those clasps aren't very high quality. Having said that... they work. Just a bit loosey-goose feeling to me. . I've been sewing boat canvas for the past few years, part-time. I needed my own hot cutter to replace a burned out soldering iron with a knife blade I was using. I've used other industrial hot cutters before also. This unit works great. I put my own markings on the wheel, easy peasy. I have worked Sunbrella and WeatherMAX 80 with this cutter, with no issues.

2026 update... still using this and still loving it! . I've been updating my reviews on products that I am still using and really like... this is definitely one of those! I make sure to use a brass wire brush (small one) to clean the blade after use, while the blade is still warm... stays clean and probably lasts longer that way. It definitely helps when cutting the next fabric, to have a clean blade. I did order a couple of spare blades, but so far I'm still on the original one, almost 2 years later. The storage case still works, although as some mentioned... those clasps aren't very high quality. Having said that... they work. Just a bit loosey-goose feeling to me. . If you need to cut through anything that can melt, this is the tool to use. It cuts through styrofoam like butter and through anything else that has the potential to melt. It comes with 2 different sizes of blades. One longer blade and a shorter blade. It also comes in a very nice box for storage. You could throw this thing down 10 flights of cement stairs and it wouldn’t hurt it. I highly recommend this product. It is built with quality in mind. It’s very durable and a great value product for your money. It also has a little thingy to put down when you’re not using it. So that it won’t fall over or hurt someone. So safety is involved in this particular item.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great cutting knife.

This knife was a perfect tool for cutting garden mats. The mats are heavy duty woven landscape fabric which lets air and water through but not light. I placed the garden mat on a smooth piece of steel and cut X shapes in the mat to create openings for onions to grow through, but no weeds. The knife cut through the fabric easily while sealing the cut edges so it will not fray. I would recommend this knife for this purpose, it worked well.
