I used 2 types of zebra pens, both 0.5 micro, arrow tip and direct tip without feathering. What's not to like? Also, they sent me a Zippo lighter. Neither addressed how many columns of dots. Really hoping for 35+ x 25+.** A: I bought an olive colored one two years ago and it had 38 dots from top to bottom on the page (making 37 rows). I bought a red one last year and it had 39 dots (38 rows). I bought an olive one again this year and it had 38 dots again. The index pages are also inconsistent. **Q: Are the dots shown in the photo accurate? They seem very large, dark and with large spacing in the photo.** A: It is an illustration, not a photo, and it is very inaccurate! I think it would be hard to show in an actual photo, especially in the small Amazon product picture size. The dots are very small, of a mid gray color. They are sufficiently visible to guide you if you want it, but not so pronounced that they inhibit use for a freehand sketch. Definitely designed by someone with a keen visual sense. I use mine for business notes and related sketches.
