They are made of that Mylar materiel. The materail they are made of is not the same as I remember. They look nice. I just felt swindled because I got so few for $12.00. It is one small package. **Q: These are connected which made it difficult for me to hang my traditional way. I had to tear apart. Is there a trick for this particular type?** A: I cut mine apart, i also didn't realize that they were connected **Q: Where is this made** A: I don’t know where it’s made but this is NOT the tinsel I grew up with. It’s thick and very stiff. I threw it out last year. **Q: Why arent you offering real tinsel made with lead ?** A: You can buy lead anymore ! And why would you ? Children are around Christmas trees. I know nostalgia....just like grandma had . You can buy thicker heavy tinsel but , thus is not it .
