The stand had to be secured with two nylon cable ties on the dowel, used as stops to prevent me from knocking either side off the dowel. Although I am not taking precautions, it would be easy to bump or tip the laptop over the back, because the stand is small and there is no lip at the front to hold down the laptop. If you have a secure spot to set this up and a small laptop or tablet, this stand will do the job and look great.
