My grandmothers set was purchased there in the very beginning of the 1960's while visiting family. After a certain year, the sets were made in India or Asia I believe. **Q: Can the dishes be placed in the dish washer?** A: It is not recommended by the mfg, as the dish washer will take off the gold rim. **Q: How prone is the gold trim to wear ?** A: We have had ours for a year. Use it 2-3 times a year and hand wash. So far no problems. **Q: Will gold rim wear off if used everyday?** A: HI!
