## Description

The Skar Audio DDX-10 D2 is a competition grade, 10-inch, Dual 2-ohm, car subwoofer. The DDX lineup was engineered by Skar Audio to be an SPL grade woofer that could also be utilized in daily system applications, allowing non-competitors to use the same subwoofers as those competing in the lanes. Every component used in the design of these woofers is of the highest quality for reliability and increased performance. Featuring a massive double stack motor, 2.5 inch pure copper high temperature voice coil, and a competition grade pressed paper cone stitched to the high roll foam surround, the woofer comes equipped ready to handle serious amounts power. Dual 2-ohm voice coil. Max Power: 1500 Watts, RMS Power: 1000 Watts. Spl: 85.2 dB, Fs: 46 Hz, Bl: 24.8, Xmax: 15mm one-way. Qts: 0.45.

Review: Its all about the enclosure ! - I've been into car audio, and building enclosures for more than 30 years. So this time around, I wanted to do something different.... Passive radiators. I decided to build a 5 cubic foot box, with two Dayton 15" passive radiators, and I used 150gms of weight, on each of them, for a tuning of 30.48 hz. I'm giving this sub woofer right about 1300 wts. So the morning before I put it in the truck, I told myself, Okay, if this sub "only" hits really deep bass, or bass heavy music well.... so be it. I can always get my SQ fix in my car, with my little 8" sub. But right from the moment I fired it up, I was absolutely stunned ! Not only does it make ridiculous low constant bass notes (as one might expect from an 18" sub with good power), but much more surprisingly, it also plays such tight, snappy kick drums, guitar bass, old school rock, and stuff that doesn't even have much bass ! Every other sub woofer enclosure that I have ever built, would start to sound like garbage, if you pushed too hard, where there was not a lot of bass signal, but not this one ! So, in spite of the fact that this thing plays techno / electronic 20-25hz bass so well (fun for demos), I've actually been listening to more old school stuff... just because I can ! The point is though, it plays everything great ! Whatever my mood, this sub woofer is down with it :) I can see this sub woofer setup staying around for a long time, while I work on several other aspects of my system... sound deadening, electrical upgrades, DSP tuning, etc. So, long story short, out of probably 30 enclosures I have built, for everything from 8"s to 18"s, this is absolutely the best, most musical setup I have ever created :) But I mean really, who uses an 18" sub woofer because they are shooting for SQ ? So freaking ecstatic with the outcome :) Thank you so much Skar :)

**Q: what is the best amp for three of these**
A: That's a very specific question because alot of different company's make great amps. The Skar rp4500.1D mono block amp would be a good match, they could probably take a little more power even. If you run that amp you will have to add a second or third battery with an upgraded alternator in your ride. I had one of these subs taking 1900 true watts @ 1ohm no problem .

**Q: Will this work with a Rockville dB 11 1400peak350w rms ohm mono car amp?**
A: I ran this speaker with the Skar Audio rp1500.1d mono block at 1ohm and it took it like a champ. That Skar amp actually Dyno tests at over 1800 true rms watts as they under rate their oroducts. I believe that Rockville amp you have will work but won't be enough power and won't do the sub any justice.

**Q: Could a hifonics bxx.1200.1d brutus amp handle a 2ohm 10 inch 1500 (1000rms) skar subwoofer?**
A: Absolutely! I Had one ddx10 dual 2ohm wired to 1ohm running the Skar rp1500.1d and that amp I believe pushes 1836 actual watts at 1ohm and that sub could have taken quite a bit more, so yeah Skar usually under rates their products. This is probably the hardest hitting 10 I've ever had. You could make money betting people and telling them it was only one 10, they wouldnt believe you lol. Good luck. I have the ddx-15 in my Tacoma now and I think I'm going deaf....huh?

**Q: Are they shallow mount at 5 inch**
A: The magnet is huge. Cant remeber the specs but its definitly not a shallow mount. Nice sub but i have a single one in a custom under seat fiberglassed box. @1200rms and it clean but not impressive at all.
