A: Our plant food spikes should be applied in the early spring and mid-fall for optimal results. Use Miracle-Gro Shake 'N Feed Flowering Trees and Shrubs Plant Food if your tree is struggling in the summer (apply every 3 months during growing season).

**Q: Can fertilizer spikes go bad?**
A: The fresher, the better, but you can store leftover spikes for the next feeding season. Seal in a plastic bag and store in a dry place. Don't toss the label–keep it to reference next time your trees need a nutrition boost.
