The case thickness on the 8926 is 11mm while 14mm on the 17044.17044 is a newer model (jan 2014) and the 8926OB is 2006 (with a new version in 2011). Also, the 17044 lists a "stopwatch" as a special feature. **Q: Can enough links be removed to accommodate a 6.5" (approx.) wrist?** A: Yes. I have a 6.25" wrist, and had to remove all but one link. So for a 6.5" wrist, removing all but 2 should be fine. The respondent above who said the links are graduated in size is mistaken.
