I imagine it would work well on other tile types too, but I haven't tried it yet. Sometimes the tile has a rough edge after being cut (either wet saw or with a snap cutter). This does a good job of rounding/smoothing the edge so that once the grout is installed nobody can tell whether the tile has a "factory edge" or not.
