The Technical description on Amazon is flawed/wrong, as it implies you have to supply batteries; you don't. **Q: Is it possible to recharge sun king home 120 battery through a method other than included solar panels (i.e. usb?)** A: The battery box has two six-volt DC charge input ports (where the solar panel plugs in, plus a spare port), one USB output port, and two 12-volt DC output ports (one of which is used for the included lights.) You would need to manufacture a cable compatible on one end with the six-volt input ports and supply the cable a six-volt DC source of power that did not exceed 15 watts of power (2.5 amps at 6 volts.) This would be an interesting (if perhaps pointless) project for an electrical hobbyist, but is nothing I would advocate otherwise. Really, in bright sun the included solar panel charges the battery quite quickly and easily. **Q: can you upgrade the solar pannel? if so maximum wattage allowed?** A: I assume so, but why? This kit is designed as a well balanced, self contained unit for the purposes stated - 3 lamps and recharging - and it works well for that. If you upgrade the existing 12W panel you may (??) need to upgrade the battery and the built in controller too, so you'll be into a custom system, especially if you want to add more lamps. If that's the case, you may find it more efficient to purchase a larger capacity integrated system that meets our needs, or build a custom system. **Q: Our lights shut off by there selfs. Anybody know why??** A: Energy saving mechanism - especially when you have low bars indicating low energy and especially when sun hits the solar panel and starts the reboot process ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect solution *by S***S on November 14, 2023* I have a shed I use for a library; it's long and narrow, and off-grid. This Greenlight Planet Home Solar Lighting was the perfect solution. Photo shown is without any open doors and windows in a darker time of day in the forest so you can see the brightness. They come with hooks so you can hang them prettier. I went for function over fancy and was in a hurry. They work great! I was delightfully surprised by the brightness and the battery has not gone empty since installation.The enclosed instructions were lacking but installation is simple. Just plug the wire from the panel into the hole on the left side of the bottom of the battery unit; and plug the wire to the lights into a hole on the right side bottom. The lights connect together, similar to xmas string lights.Very happy with it and highly recommend it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ They work great *by G***C on January 24, 2019* While I have never seen full bar on charging, they charge even on heavy over cast days. I do not use them daily but the only time I had an issue was when the kids left them on all day as the battery got down to two bars and I was worried they would not last the whole evening. We didn't use it for charging phones that night, but the lights worked the whole time.Purchased 2018 for use in an old house I used for storage/ workshop and cookouts. They were the main lighting and phone charger. Then later they became backup lighting and I rigged them on poles strung out in the yard for lighting and phone charging for cookouts.It's June 2022 and they still work great. I had one year I didn't really get to use them much, we had a power outage and I had just emptied all the generators for maintenance and lost power that night Dec 2021. Opened the box I had it stored in for over 6 months and the battery was still fully charged. Strung them thru the house and had lighting/ USB chargers for the kids till the next day.4 years and only problem was with one switch getting corrosion after I found the kids had not stored them from the week prior bon fire (or anything else for that matter) and it had rained the whole week. The switch still works, just had some issues the day I found it out. The switch was sitting in an area that retained water thru most the rains so it was partially submerged.Not only would I suggest this item, I'm thinking of buying more to install in a few out buildings ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ They are really great product, please get them back in!! *by V***C on June 4, 2019* This item is fantastic, easy to install. The light that they give out is so bright. They each have their own switch, high, medium & low. I have an outdoor patio bar with a roof on it, we call it the Cantina, these lights light it up perfect, I have no electricity in the bar. What a great product. I want to order more but they don't know when they will be in stock again. Great product for the price. Please get these back in, I need to order 3 more sets for family members.
