Just insert the bulb into the holder, position the holder in the center of the star, fold the hinged halves of the star 180º, clip them together (with just a little difficulty), done! It is made of heavier-than-I-expected white, translucent plastic and comes with a mounting stick and zip ties to mount it on the top of the tree (or just hang it from a string somewhere).
