And 0 stars for Amazon packing: glass jars thrown in flimsy bag & shattered en route *by A***O on Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2022* First, the product: I find the Pretty Frank deodorant in jars to work quite well. And I like that the ingredients are so much healthier and more natural than most deodorants and that it works well as an anti-perspirant too if I use enough. And my clothes have remained stain-free. The orange vanilla scent is nice and gentle. It is not too perfumed. The deodorant is a tad messy to put on but I find that the Pretty Frank deodorant in the jar works better than the their sticks. Some reviewers have mentioned a reformulation and I noticed it too. I have found the current formulation to be a bit more spreadable and a bit less effective as a deodorant than the earlier formulation. Still it works well in my experience and I have had trouble finding quality deodorants that do. It works better than the more “chemically” ones I used for many years. So I highly recommend this product!I don’t recommend getting it shipped from Amazon though. I will buy it from another source next time. When I recently ordered these, they were thrown into an unpadded plastic bag mailer with some other items. There was a wisp of thin bubble wrap around the jars which obviously was inadequate protection. The glass shattered in the mail of course and even ripped through part of the mailer bag. Inside I found a mess of glass shards and deodorant paste. The box of nitrile gloves I had ordered with the deodorant had opened up and the glassy paste was on them too. So the deodorants and the gloves were a total loss.Amazon Customer Service was great about replacing the destroyed items though I had to take the time to call Customer Service to avoid having to send the mess of shattered glass and paste back. The Customer Service agent fortunately was really helpful.Earlier, online, when requesting the replacement, I also requested that the glass jars of deodorant be shipped in a box. But they arrived in a slightly padded mailer envelope. This time the glass was intact but the lids were all dented. Since it is only deodorant the dents weren’t a big deal but just indicative that the packaging still needs a lot of improvement. I noticed some of these thin Amazon Plastic mailers have messages on that about being essentially eco-friendly. But it is not eco-friendly when things get broken and become waste, and you have to replace them!All that said I do heartily recommend the Pretty Frank deodorant itself! The smell is amazing, consistency is great, you can tell it’s not just “scented dough” because you feel on your fingers that they are left waterproof. After applying I have to clean my fingers with some toilet paper and then wash my hands. I have been carrying around my old deodorant fearing that this may not be enough for me but honestly I haven’t had to use it at all. This deodorant has worked for me and I almost can’t believe it. If you are struggling with smell I can tell you from experience that you can get rid of it naturally. Look for ways to detox your armpits before switching to a natural deodorant and while your body accustoms to it. If you’ve been using full-of-chemicals deodorants for years and years you can expect some learning curve from your body and it may not be perfect for a while. Also, remember there are other factors to take into account, the most important of all, the food you eat, your body and skin is reacting to that all the time, and this includes the amount of sweat you produce and the smell. Another thing to have in mind is hair makes sweat smell worse so be sure to be well shaved. I’m loving the Pretty Frank deodorant. I have always been allergic to commercial deodorants, which caused my underarms to break out, develop knots etc. it’s been difficult to keep from “smelling”. I decided to use this product last year and it is wonderful. It smells great, is very easy to spread, and lasts a long time! Most of all it doesn’t hurt my underarms at all! The arrowroot formula is apparently the very thing I needed to keep my underarm hygiene in line. No harsh chemicals here!
