If you tighten one bolt first then there is no way to get the second one threaded. Whereas if you were to thread both bolts at the same time and tighten them a down in alternating fashion, the mechanical leverage provided will spread the holes and make things work.that said, the adaptor is solid. The price is the cheapest around and does what I needed. It's not Shimano quality, but I'm also not paying Shimano prices. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product, only works with new style post mount brakes. Will not work with IS (older) brake on PM fork. *by M***M on Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2018* Worked well when I upgraded to XT rear brake. I will have to say that you cannot use the front bracket if you have a post mount fork and are trying to fit a flat mount (IS) front brake brake. Only works the other way. I ended up buying a new XT front brake as well to solve that problem.
