Review: Great knife - I purchased this knife and a Buck knife the same size and number of blades. I liked the Buck knife better because it was a little lighter and not as thick. I always carry a pocket knife and use them daily. The heaviest duty I do with them is cutting stretch wrap off of pallets with merchandise on them. After about two months both of the Buck knife blades started giving me trouble closing because they had become slightly bent. This gradually got worse so I started using the Schrade. Its been eleven months and I've had no problems with the knife.two months ago I lost the Schrade and had to start using the Buck again. After nine days one of the blades bent to where it wouldn't even close. I ordered two more Schrade knives just in case I lost one. It's a solid, well built knife. THE BUCK IS NOT A BAD KNIFE. The blades are thinner. It was not meant to be used the way I used it. The spring is the Schrade is stronger so it takes stronger fingers to open. I won't say the Schrade is a better knife than the Buck but I will say that it is a better knife for my purposes.

**Q: Is this knife made in the USA?**
A: nope, made it china.  very cheap blade, arrived with bent blades, so did the replacement.  do not buy

**Q: Do the blades lock in place?**
A: Yes but not in the way that other knifes I have had do. There is not a place to press on back to release if that is what you mean.  I would say that they snap in place more than lock.  It takes considerably more effort to close them once the blade "snaps" into place.  I use this knife constantly and although my previous knife was a litte larger and did lock into place with a release "button" on back, I have had no problem with it shutting on me and I had cleaned probably 100 fish with this, which is a slippery job and never had a problem.  Hope that helps.

**Q: How long when closed?**
A: 2 3/4 inches.

**Q: Do the blades lock on thIs pocket knife?**
A: No they do not.   great for fingernails, envelops, a little whittling.   Perfect size for your pocket.

I purchased this knife and a Buck knife the same size and number of blades. I liked the Buck knife better because it was a little lighter and not as thick. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Blade is thinner but still good

I carried this brand and model of knife for about 10 years. I finally broke the tip of the long blade (my fault, not the knife's). I wanted to replace it with an identical knife. As many have commented here, the blades on the new knives are thinner. The new one is about 28% (.02") thinner than the old one. See photos. HOWEVER I have now used the new knife for over 6 months in everyday use. It performs well. I think it holds an edge better than the old model. For light use such as opening packages, cutting cord or small rope, you will be satisfied.
