When I was looking around for CDP Choline, I was pleased to see they carry it, and bought this bottle. I had no idea how effective it is! For anyone contemplating CDP Choline, this is literally brain food. You'll want to be a little cautious taking it, because it quickly will get your brain firing on all cylinders. It's a "morning" supplement, because it adds energy. What I found is that it helps you to get "above" the confusion of the daily task list. You can see everything more clearly and quickly figure out which and what you want to do. A good example is the movie "Limitless," with Bradley Cooper. But instead of some obscure fictional drug that causes lots of problems, this is an actual food used by the brain itself. You would ordinarily get choline from eggs, liver, fish, poultry, soybeans, and dairy products. So no, except for the soybeans, it's not going to work for vegans. But you have to eat a lot of actual food in order to get useful amounts of choline. One capsule gives you a significant amount, and you'll find that you just think better. I'm 74, a senior citizen as they say, and I started taking 1/day, when I first got the bottle. I noticed immediately that I was able to quickly prioritize my day, re-order things into a smoother flow, and see better ways to accomplish complicated things. Wow! So I folded it into my daily routine. About a month later, I realized I was waking up ready to go. I didn't really need a cup of tea, although I like the taste. I'd realize I'd "forgotten" that morning caffeine. But I also began to notice I would be standing at the kitchen window, looking at the birds and thinking about "stuff." I thought maybe ten minutes had passed, and I'd move to do something else. Then I looked at a clock and realized nearly an hour had gone by! My mind was moving so fast, and going down "rabbit holes" of related information, that time suddenly didn't work the same. This is good stuff, especially for older folks. Just go easy on it, right? Nowadays, I tend to use it for days when I know I'm going to be busy, with a lot going on. Or when I'm getting involved in a particularly complicated project. It has no side effects, non-inflammatory, and is simply a somewhat more concentrated form of the normal choline you get from food. I just didn't expect it to have such an amazing effect! **Q: What is the difference between this gdp & cdp choline? it's shows that both are commonly bought together yet both are sources of choline. help!!**
A: Pro: ALPHA-GPC s (usually) cheaper and is the most-recomended choline source for a racetam stack.
Con: ALPHA-GPC IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you suffer IBD, especially BAD FOR ULCERATIVE COLITIS!
With ulcerative colitis and taking CDP / CITICOLINE , I have suffered no flare-ups.

**Q: How large is this capsule?  I have trouble swallowing.**
A: Its pretty small not that large about the size of  penny in length and a quarter of a penny in width in my apoinion the actually do work took about 3 days to actually notice myself remember, thinking, and focusing better

**Q: Why do the ingredients inside the capsule smell/taste like nail polish remover or paint thinner?**
A: High concentration extracts and aminos typically have that smell

**Q: What is this derived from? If from soy, and not so labeled, these manufacturers have violated the law**
A: We too have to avoid soy and have used this product for several years now.   The label on the bottle reads as such-CDP Choline (Citicoline)----300mg.
Other Ingredients: Gelatin (capsules), Cellulose, Silicon Dioxide.  I have never received a bottle of this product containing any soy or soy byproducts.  Hope that helps.

Been using Healthy Origins® Cognizin® Citicoline for years. Never was sure it did much for my brain. Switching over to DoubleWood® brand CDP Choline (citicoline), I noticed a difference. DoubleWood's product seemed to stimulate my brain more, helping it produce needed neurotransmitters. I'm pretty short of those because I go days without any sleep and my nervous system is shot. I use CDP Choline regularly these days. I also use (NOW) dopa mucuna from time to time. Dopa mucuna contains l-dopa, which the body converts to dopamine. CDP Choline can be used to PREVENT reuptake of dopamine - after taking dopa mucuna. Doesn't take much CDP really to extend the bliss of dopamine. Because my insomniac brain is rather starved for neurotransmitters, a sudden influx of dopamine can be euphoric, mildly. A peaceful easy feeling. Helps to combine CDP/citicoline with necessary vitamins and minerals (for neurotransmitter production). Otherwise you're stimulating production of something your body may not have sufficient raw ingredients for. Choose the most bioavailable formats.
