They squeezed my head - so uncomfortable and cumbersome to travel with. Many ear canals are oddly shaped, and these plugs have soft ridges that can go where they need to go. They caution you to remove them gently and with a twist, so you don't "pop" them out. The stem is firm enough to insert and remove easily. The sound reduction of pretty good, though not complete, which is actually safer for most tasks. I use them for mowing, weed whacking and chain saw work, and almost forget they are in. Many other types are either too stiff, and become uncomfortable, or too soft and do not block enough sound.
