It is solid and well built.I used this light on a recent dive trip. We were on a boat anchoring at night. On the surface it easily lit up the shoreline that was more than 500 feet away. Underwater this light really surprised me. I took it down to 80 feet and had no problem with leaks. The light is turned on an off with a twisting action on the front bezel. The user manual suggests turning the light on before entering the water. I turned it on and off below the surface and have not had any problems. There are 3 rubber O rings for the front bezel and 2 for the rear cap. It comes with spare O rings. Batteries can be inserted from either end. We just went spearfishing at night 2 days ago and my dive partners had the uk eled 8 c battery flashlight and my light was just as bright as theirs ! My dive partner willie was speechless! The very next day he ordered one for himself and I ordered me another one too lol! People take it from me, I'm a Hawaiian that night dives for fish about 4 to 5 times a month and these lights are one of the best buys you will ever make in your life. If you read any reviews that were bad, in my opinion they just did not know what they were doing lol. These were also the longest lasting flashlights I've ever purchased. After 3 to 4 hrs of diving, the light was still bright and white! While my friends Uk Eled 8 c flashlight had a yellow tinge to it! A little on the heavy side and it gets warm when used outside the water so it may not be the best option for extended use above the surface.
