The thing is, these will make your shot go straight as long as you make decent contact, it does not matter how your swing looks. So these may actually harm your ability to hit a normal ball straighter. My advice is, if you want to be able to hit a normal ball straighter, take a look at what you are maybe doing wrong, work on your swing, and just keep practicing. **Q: do you need to pick up the ball and align the arrow on ever shot? How do these balls work on the putting green?** A: As far as putting goes I never tried them. I used the balls for driving and long fairway wood shots. I will admit that you do loose some distance using them as I did but sometimes straight is better than real long. In a drive and 3 wood shot the distance lost between it and a good Calloway chrome soft would be about 30 yards after the two strokes. You have to align the ball every time for it to work, otherwise it's a regular golf ball **Q: What is the difference between 2 piece and 3 piece balls?** A: The 3 piece balls will give you mor action on the greens. A 2 piece ball is a lower quality of a ball. And the cost to make a 3 piece ball is more then the cost of a 2 pice ball. I have problems with a fade on all my tee shots when using woods...it's not really a slice as such, but I always end up yards and yards from my target line. So I gave these balls a try...and, I have to say, that actually bl**dy work! I can now tee off with anything up to a driver and it goes lovely and straight. Yes, they aren't "legal" and yes perhaps my new improved tee shots aren't anything to do with me or my skill...but at my beginner level these are a welcome addition to my bag. I'll keep practicing at the range with normal balls so will get better with time, but for now seeing a tee shot go high long and straight and ending up on the fairway giving me a decent second shot is just priceless...and its rekindling my love of the game. The shot doesn't maybe fly as high as a normal ball, so perhaps not as long...but a slightly longer shot from the fairway is better than a shorter shot from the rough. I suspect they won't stop a huge slice, but if like me it's more of an unwanted fade than a full on slice...give them a try.
