Size of clips i've used 8mm, thanks to a person on here who took the trouble to measure the cable when i asked the question, many thanks out to you. Overall very pleased with it, fair price, quality seems spot on. I'm using indoors for an overhead projector. Does look nice on the wall :) And the shade of orange is not jarring, we like it at home Can recommend sure. One note here: i had originally planned to open the socket box and drill out 2 holes with gaps that would then enable me to slide the unit onto 2 screws i planned to fix onto the ceiling. This little mod would make it a wall mounted box. Unfortunately, the box is closed with a type of security screw for which i do not have an adapter, so its currently up using 3M double sided tape.
