Designed for kids 8+, this durable, mess-free kit supports STEM education by allowing users to explore attraction, repulsion, and polarity safely and clearly. ## Description Stays clear! Steel flings are sealed inside a mess-free, transparent viewing tray made of special scratch-resistant plastic that stands up to classroom use. Steel filings (cleaner than iron filings) ensure cloud-free viewing. Learn how a magnet’s invisible force field works—view it up close and manipulate it with your own hands! Explore the basics of magnetism (attraction, repulsion, polarity, and more). Compare and contrast the magnetic fields of a bar and disc magnet. Includes rubber-coated magnets (.75 inch disc magnet and 1 inch bar magnet)—that won’t cause scratching—and filing-filled tray measuring 3.44 inches in diameter. Ages 8+/Grades 3+ ## Features - Includes 2 magnets (.75 inch disc magnet and 1 inch bar magnet) and 1 filing-filled tray measuring 3.44 inches in diameter. The small bar magnet has color coded poles (red north and blue south). - Features scratch-resistant plastic, rubber-coated magnets, and clean steel flings for clear viewing! Filings are sealed inside a mess-free, transparent viewing tray made of special scratch-resistant plastic that stands up to classroom use. Steel filings (cleaner than iron filings) ensure cloud-free viewing. Magnets are rubber-coated to prevent scratching of the viewing tray. - View a magnet’s invisible lines of force and manipulate it with our own hands! Place a magnet under the dish. Gently shake the dish. Tip the dish to one side, so the extra flings inside fall away from the magnet. Notice how certain areas of the magnet attract more filings. Those areas are the magnet’s poles. How do the areas of attraction of the disc magnet differ from those of the bar magnet? Where are the disc magnet’s poles? Where are the bar magnet’s poles? “Breaks” in the pattern of the filings inside the dish indicate the separations between the poles of the magnet. - Explore the basics of magnetism (attraction, repulsion, polarity, and more). US safety tested for ages 8+/grades 3+. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07F1RGW7Y | | Best Sellers Rank | #151,660 in Industrial & Scientific ( See Top 100 in Industrial & Scientific ) #52 in Science Education Magnets & Magnetism Kits | | Brand | Dowling Magnets | | Brand Name | Dowling Magnets | | Color | Clear | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 65 Reviews | | Included Components | Includes viewing tray filled with steel filings and 2 rubber-coated magnets (.75 inch disc and 1 inch bar) | | Item Type Name | Magnetic Field Viewing Kit with Steel Filings | | Item Weight | 2.08 ounces | | Manufacturer | Dowling Magnets Educational Supplies | | Manufacturer Part Number | 731025 | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | Not applicable. | | Material | Ceramic Magnet, Plastic, Steel | | Material Type | Ceramic Magnet, Plastic, Steel | | Model Number | 731025 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Shape | Round | | Size | Small | | UPC | 094051310256 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Dowling Magnets - **Color:** Clear - **Item Weight:** 0.8 Ounces - **Manufacturer:** Dowling Magnets Educational Supplies - **Material:** Ceramic Magnet, Plastic, Steel - **Number of Pieces:** 1 - **Shape:** Round - **Size:** Small - **UPC:** 094051310256 - **Unit Count:** 1 Count ## Images ![Dowling Magnets Magnetic Field Viewing STEAM Kit for Kids 8+ – View Invisible Magnetic Force Lines in Clear Tray with Magnets & Filings for Young Scientists - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71H4x7pcOML.jpg) ## Frequently Bought Together - Dowling Magnets Magnetic Field Viewing Kit with Steel Filings - SPACECARE Magnetic Sand Iron Filings Iron Powder Filings Magnetic Power for Magnet Education and School Projects, Storage (12 Ounces) with Shaker Lid, 1 Pack Iron Oxide Powder Shavings for Science - Science Magnet for Kids Bar Magnet Small with North South Identified for Students Teachers Science Experiment Physics Education Toys 2Pcs --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/237169747-dowling-magnets-magnetic-field-viewing-steam-kit-for-kids-8](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/237169747-dowling-magnets-magnetic-field-viewing-steam-kit-for-kids-8) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-10-02*
