It seems like the part by arms fits just fine to keep him from backing up out of it. Overall, he loves it. For reference, he's about 15lbs. My baby is more on the spicy end of the scale. He didn’t hate it once it was on, even slept in it at one point. He just hates being on a leash. He slipped out of the vest (moving backwards out of it while on a leash). Little contortionist. It’s just the way the vest is, it’s possible. I have found the one that is impossible for him to get out of (‘Kitty Holster Cat Harness’), and we will utilize it for situations where he absolutely has to leave the house (emergencies, vet, moving, etc.). Other than that, I have resigned from experimenting with getting him outdoors on a leash. Eventually I’ll try a stroller, but I’m not in any hurry. My baby is an indoor cat. I buy him Kitty Lawns and cat grass to nibble and that makes a big difference.
