I wanted to run the cable through the guitar and add an output jack. if your guitar is a vintage guitar then don't touch it. if it's a guitar that can be replaced easily, I would just do it. great pick up for the price. **Q: getting static when i hook it up to my bose sound system any thoughts?** A: It may also be because this is the single coil version of the pickup. You may experience less hum with the humbucker version. **Q: Will it work with nylon strings** A: These types of pickups will not work on nylon strings. It is a magnetic pickup so it can only sense the vibrations from metal objects. For nylon strings, use a piezo or transducer pickup instead.
