**Q: What would be better the 120 or 220 glass stone for knives that have chipped edges? I have never used shapton glass stone.**
A: Depends upon the amount of work you tend to do.  Both stones can handle this type of work, the 120 will just do it more quickly - and so if you are doing a lot of this work I'd go with that.  If it is something that you'll be doing only occasionally you could use the 220 easily.
