The leveler works & can be seen while cutting bangs. I wanted to use this gadget to assist me in giving myself a single layer bob haircut. Unfortunately I could not see leveling ball as I pulled my hair back. A black ball would be so much easier to see. Clip pulled my hair as I slid clip down my hair & I would have to stop. I ultimately aborted my attempt to use clip at this time. I ended up using Nexus First Aid Tape to aid in my haircut.
