Some are too weak to light my path; some break after a few uses. I have recently bought a couple of these lights (I ride two different bikes) and hope that I will not need to buy another for a while. My initial response is positive, but I haven't had them long enough to know how well they will last. Here is my initial take on the product: First, the bike mount is well-made. My bikes have very different handlebar thicknesses, and the thicker handlebar also has thick tape over it. This mount can accommodate both handlebars, which is not true of most lights I have tried.The flashlight snaps in place onto the mount, which is a tad worrisome. I have some concern that hitting a pothole may jar the light loose while riding at night. So far, I have not had that problem -- but I haven't hit any potholes with bone-jarring force yet, either.The mount raises the flashlight up about an inch above the handlebar, which is appreciated. I have handlebar bags on both my bikes, and the lights that sit right on the handlebars tend to have their beams partly obstructed by the bags. Aiding the elevation in this regard is the way that you can twist the mount in a full circle horizontally. So getting the beam to clear the handlebar bag is no problem at all with this mount.The light comes with a three-AAA battery pack, but you can replace the battery pack with a heftier 18650 rechargeable Lithium battery. The rechargeable battery seems to have plenty of life for the night riding that I do.The light from the flashlight is adequately bright. It is not as bright as the dedicated CREE lights with recharging units included. But it is brighter than the typical battery-operated bike lights that are too dim to let you find your way down an unlit bike path at night. It is bright enough, and the ability to adjust the beam from narrow and bright to wide and bright-enough adds to the usability of the unit. And, unlike the other CREE lights with rechargeable battery packs, the flashlight does not have a thin wire hanging down to the power unit that always seems to get broken in use. In that regard, I have high hopes for the robustness of the light.The light has five different options -- bright, medium, and dim, blinking, and SOS flashing. The unit cycles between the different states as you push the on/off switch -- and it has an OFF state between each option. So, if you want the brightest setting, you will press the light On/Off/Med/Off/Low/Off/Blink/Off/SOS/Off to get back to the bright setting each time you turn the light on. It's a real pain, and makes me worry that the switch will wear out relatively soon. It would have made a lot more sense to make the light turn On/Blink/Off. The light is simply not bright enough to use at less than full power, If you're worried that you may run out of battery, bring a spare. All the added button presses just don't make any sense at all to me.The flashlight itself seems well made and rugged. The fact that you can take it off the bike and use it as a flashlight if needed is a real plus. It looks like it will stand up to all-weather use on a bike. Shortly after I posted my review I received an email from the seller explaining that there had apparently been a packaging error and they would like to send me another light, free of charge. The seller asked that I be willing to revise my review. I agreed to do so and quickly received another light; the shipping was very fast and the packaging included a new light and the mounting bracket.I am very happy with this bike light. It's the brightest that I have ever had, does a great job illuminating the road. In the past I often felt the lights I had used were more for making me somewhat visible to drivers as they didn't do a very good job of illuminating the road, not a problem with this light. It has a "brightest" setting, a setting that is 50% of the highest setting, and then a flashing setting. The highest setting throws out a lot of light and should be more than adequate for a leisurely ride at night. Depending upon the riding conditions even the second brightest setting might be sufficient and I assume would reduce battery consumption.Attaching the bike mount to the handlebar is simple and doesn't require any tools. The bike light then snaps into place on the mount and can also be easily removed if a person wanted to take the light and use it as a flashlight. The casing is well made and others have commented that it has survived being dropped.This is a five star bike light at a very reasonable price. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Extremely disappointing *by D***L on Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2016* It's not very bright, considering its a upgrade from the cheap light i was already using. The original light is far brighter. When I hit bumps, it toggles my light between strobe and on.
