It also keeps whatever you are drinking very hot, and even retains heat longer than a regular mug with the lid off.However, I bought it because the capacity is 16 oz. That is false. It is a little less then 16 ounces when filled to the very brim. I don't know about other but drinking capacity for a mug should be the water level at the top of the handle, not the maximum capacity of the glass. At the handle level it's about 12 ounces. I wanted to use the specific size to help me keep track of water intake.
