I got this screen to sit in front of my gas fireplace, so I could keep my 9 month old from touching the glass and getting burnt. The screen worked perfectly. It's sturdy, visually pleasing and versatile, well-made, and looks like it will last for years to come. I love that the hinges are stiff enough that if someone were to sneeze, it wont fall over, but will also allow easy adjustment of the angled panels. While my living room has a classic look to it, this screen looks nice and goes well with the rest of the room. I feel it would look good in any style actually... modern, rustic, contemporary.... maybe not elegant though. Thpught it was funny when i went to my sisters for thanksgiving, and had bought the exact same screen for her wood fireplace!
