Review: great expectations - My last copy of The Odyssey was Robert Fitzgerald's translation in 1963. I wanted to see what was new. In a recent zoom talk about The Odyssey, Peter Green's translation was mentioned very favorably several times, along with several others. I'll circle back after finishing this copy. The scholars have wonderful comments on the jacket as noted above. This hardcover book is very helpful to a reader as myself with a good introduction, maps, a 65 page synopsis at the end, a 41 page glossary, and index. I have great expectations on the outbound voyage.

My last copy of The Odyssey was Robert Fitzgerald's translation in 1963. I wanted to see what was new. In a recent zoom talk about The Odyssey, Peter Green's translation was mentioned very favorably several times, along with several others. I'll circle back after finishing this copy. The scholars have wonderful comments on the jacket as noted above. This hardcover book is very helpful to a reader as myself with a good introduction, maps, a 65 page synopsis at the end, a 41 page glossary, and index. I have great expectations on the outbound voyage.
