**Q: will it work for windows 10 and is it compatible with western digital hard drives sata?**
A: It is just an empty enclosure that you slip your hard drive in.  The operating system does not matter.  I have one with a western digital HD that came from a PC and one with a HD that came from a Mac.  Both work fine.
